From the School Nurses and Other Information

April 16, 2020

Dear Families:

The school nurses of Concord, Carlisle, and CCHS created this special video for their students and families!  Please watch it together!   https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oKEmDd-0y7PGOdx8McvOzbji3vHcTOuq/view?usp=sharing

A reminder that the Virtual Coffee is tomorrow at 3 p.m.  See this morning’s email for Zoom information.

I extend a heartfelt thanks to the Concord Education Fund for their generous donation that funded Zoom education subscriptions at CCHS.

As CCHS families saw, Principal Mastrullo shared important information about our approach to some of this spring’s events.  It is found here with a number of other reflective thoughts:  http://cchsmm.blogspot.com/2020/04/fuel-fight-words-of-wisdom-q5-prom-and.html.   While we await word from Governor Baker, we are in the process of reviewing the spring calendars as to the many events so we can share plans with you.  For those most important milestones, like prom, we are committed to doing our very best to offer students an experience in the future.

In case you wondered what school might look like when we go back, California’s Governor Newsom gave us all a lot to think about: https://edsource.org/2020/when-california-schools-reopen-gov-newsom-envisages-major-changes-in-how-they-are-run/629084

NBC Nightly News created its first broadcast for kids with developmentally appropriate information about the virus and time management during remote learning.  https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/nightly-news-kids-edition-april-15-2020-82092101665

And I shared more examples of students and their acts of appreciation and hope:  https://twitter.com/cps_cchs

Best,

Laurie
