Naomi Krakow Named Principal of Alcott Elementary School

Concord Public School Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter announced today that Naomi Krakow will become the new Principal of the Alcott Elementary School.  Dr. Hunter expressed her thanks for the many individuals who participated in the extensive search process including parents, teachers, administrators, and staff.

“I am excited to welcome Naomi to Concord and the Alcott School as well as our District leadership team.  It was clear from this process that she shares our passion to serve students and families.  Her exceptional experience and educational background give me the confidence that she will maintain and enhance the high level of educational excellence and sense of community that we have come to expect at Alcott and I look forward to working with her” said Dr. Hunter.

Krakow is currently serving as Principal of the William H. Ohrenberger School in Boston.  She was appointed to the position in January of 2013 after working as the Assistant Principal at the same school site since September of 2009. She was a Principal Intern at the Rafael Hernandez School in Boston during the 2008-2009 school year after working as a Special Education Teacher at the Roberts Vaux High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from June of 2003 through June of 2008.  As a Special Education Teacher she served as a Special Education Liaison, Literacy Leader and as a Building Representative for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers.

Krakow holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, an M.A.Ed. from Saint Joseph’s University and she earned her B.A. from Harvard University.  She will start in her role on July 1, 2019.  Current Principal Sharon Young will be retiring at the end of the school year after serving 16 years in that role.
