Town Meeting begins April 24th – There will be four school-related articles

Concord Town Meeting begins Monday, April 24th.  In preparation, the Concord and Concord-Carlisle School Committees hosted a series of Information Sessions regarding the 2017-18 school budgets and school-related articles.

There will be four school-related articles at Town Meeting:

♦  ARTICLE 13 – Concord Public Schools Budget: FY18 CPS Budget is $36,810,111.
At the April 11, 2017  business meeting, members of the Concord School Committee voted to adopt a new budget recommendation (Concord Town Meeting Article 13) to achieve alignment with the Concord Finance Committee recommendation of $36,810,111. Members were pleased to achieve alignment with the Finance Committee recommendation while accomplishing one of Committee’s primary goals of funding a foreign language program in the elementary schools.

♦  ARTICLE 14 – Concord Public Schools Supplemental Appropriation of $400,000 for the current school year. Will not be moved at Town Meeting 2017

♦  ARTICLE 15 – Concord Public Schools Capital Renovations and Repairs of $850,000.

♦  ARTICLE 16 – Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Budget: FY18 Budget is $28,042,499. Carlisle Article 10

♦  ARTICLE 17 – Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Landfill Remediation: Cost $1.2 million. Carlisle Article 15
